Sutureless compression anastomosis of the distal colon and rectum with an AKA-2 instrument

Abstract

The AKA guns for sutureless anastomosis of the rectum has been designed by the Russians. It is resusable and it allows the construction of the anastomosis by compression of the bowel ends. During the past year we have been using this instrument for rectal anastomosis. The description of the device as well as the assembling and the technique of its use will be presented. The results of this experience are shown elsewhere in this proceedings.
